Last XP update I DLed bricked my system. Something went wrong, couldn't tell you what, but when I said it could restart to apply the updates the system stopped working. Had to buy a new HDD so I could load windows onto it and then access my files. Then reformat the drive, then load windows onto it. Then move all my files back to the drive so I could reformat my new drive so that windows didn't freak out because there were two copies of it on two different drives. You know how long it takes to format a 1 terabyte hard-drive?

Anyway, that type of crap happens. One corrupt bit is all it takes and it can gum up the whole works. While that is deeply irritating, that wasn't what made me angry. What made me angry was the crap that microsoft gave me. Called 'em told them I downloaded one of their updates and it broke my OS. They told me that I had rights for phone tech support, and that I should try online. When I told them I'd be happy to do that, but they broke my computer, they told me to access the internet through a different computer. Up yours microsoft...
